Take your scrambling beyond Grade 1 and onto steeper, more technical terrain. Advanced scrambling combines the movement and route-finding skills of scrambling with the ropework and protection techniques of climbing.
This course is designed to help you move confidently and efficiently through Grade 2 and 3 terrain, using the rope where appropriate to manage exposure and protect harder sections.

Learn on Real Scrambles
We'll use genuine Grade 2 and 3 terrain to develop your skills, rather than simply practising ropework at a crag. You'll learn how to assess the terrain and choose when to scramble, when to protect a section and when to use more conventional climbing techniques.
Efficient Ropework
Technical scrambling often requires a different approach to traditional climbing. We'll look at simple, efficient systems that allow you to move quickly while still managing the consequences of a slip or fall.
Supportive, Straight-Talking Coaching
Technical terrain can be committing, particularly when the weather or route-finding becomes challenging. We'll provide calm, practical coaching and help you develop the judgement to make good decisions throughout the day.
